The Problem
Many couples struggle with sleeping comfortably together. Common issues include:

-
One partner "hogging" the covers.
-
Different temperature preferences.
-
Restlessness or frequent trips out of bed during the night.
-
One person being left without covers.

Key Features

Invisible Magnetic Fasteners:
A plurality of thin disc magnets are hidden within the hemmed edges.
.png)
Seamless Transition:
The magnetic fasteners are placed so the article appears to be a traditional, unified bedsheet when connected.
Easy Separation:
Portions can be separated by gently overcoming the magnetic attraction, allowing each partner to move their side independently.

Self-Aligning:
Laundry Safe:
Magnets are aligned so that the fabric automatically snaps back into a
connected configuration.
Magnetic fasteners are enveloped within hemmed areas to protect them
during washing.
How It Works
The design consists of two fabric portions (e.g., sheets, blankets, or comforters)
joined along a central longitudinal edge.

United Configuration:
The two halves are magnetically coupled to form a complete bed covering.

Released Configuration:
The halves are pulled apart to provide individual freedom.

Alignment Magnet:
A stronger magnet at the bottom edge can keep the base of the sheet connected even when the top is separated.
Additional Description
Versatility Beyond Bedding
While ideal for sheets and comforters, this technology can be applied to:
Pillow Cases: To form a single long pillow or two separate ones.
Furniture Coverings: For indoor or outdoor use.

Audrey Hubbard invented the Magnetic Split Sheets to solve the common "tug-of-war" many couples experience at night. She noticed that issues like cover-hogging and different temperature preferences often forced partners to sleep separately. Her goal was to design a solution that provides individual freedom while maintaining the look of a traditional, unified bed.
The invention uses hidden magnetic fasteners tucked inside hemmed edges to connect two separate fabric portions. This allows partners to pull their side away independently or keep the sheets joined as a single unit. A strategically placed "alignment magnet" at the foot of the bed ensures the sheets automatically snap back into place, keeping the bed looking neat and organized.
Hubbard’s vision extends beyond standard bedding to include applications for pillowcases, furniture covers, and even beach towels. By integrating this magnetic technology, she successfully balanced personal comfort with home aesthetics. Her creation offers "Independence in Bed, Unity in Style," allowing for a customized sleep experience without sacrificing a cohesive look.
